Tues, March 31, all day:  Coffee for CASA fundraiser.  20 percent of all sales (drinks, food, everything) will be donated to CASA, a Hope College-related program which helps "at-risk elementary children learn how to succeed in school" with after-school tutoring and activities.  At Lemonjello's, College Ave at 9th St, Holland.
 
Thurs, April 2, 11 am:  Asian Music Series: "At the Threshold of This Life": Tibetan Music Fieldwork and Creative Responses, presented by Dr. Andrea Clearfield, award-winning composer, from her work documenting Tibetan music in a remote and restricted area of the Himalayas in northern Nepal.  Event includes video/audio, discussion of the project.  At Wichers Auditorium, Nykerk Hall, Hope College, 127 East 12th St, Holland.

Community Opportunity
4-H Tech Wizards program is looking for 4 men and 2 women to mentor youth in grades 6-8, two hours a week for a year, including summer, Tuesday evenings either 4 to 6 pm or 6 to 8 pm.  Program focuses on the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills; most of the students also take part in the Hope College Step Up program.  Mentors do not have to be "rocket scientists," but willing to learn new things while building positive relationships with youth.
