Wed, Mar 14, 7 pm: "The Struggle for Equity in Education: A Defining Moment in Chicano History," by Paula Crisostomo, social activist and community leader; as a student in the '60s, she led 20,000 Chicanos from five East Los Angeles high schools in a protest against racism and substandard teaching. Her story became a 2006 HBO movie, "Walk Out." She directs government and community relations for Occidental College, Los Angeles. Part of Grand Rapids Community College Diversity Lecture Series XII.
