Wed, July 8, 4:45 pm: Diversity and inclusion demonstration to show support for the LGBT nondiscrimination ordinance currently under study by the Holland City Council. Wear a mask, keep six-foot distance, wear rainbow gear or BLM t-shirts, carry signs. Meet at Holland City Hall, 270 S. River.
Sat, July 11, 10 am to noon: Youth March for Justice. Youth (K-12) are invited to learn about anti-racism, history, and civic engagement at this educational March for Justice and activity time. Youth are encouraged to take part in a short essay contest "What Equaity Means to Me." Winners from elementary, middle school, and high school will receive a small gift and be asked to read their essay at the march. Email essays by July 6 to youthmarchforjustice.holland@gmail.com and include your name and age category. Schedule: 10 am to 11 am: educational stations and activities; 11 am to noon: March around Centennial Park and sign demonstration along River Ave. Check Facebook Events for updates. Tues, July 21, 9 am to 4 pm: Virtual Summit on Race and Inclusion: "Vision and Voices." Registration is open for the 15th Summit hosted by the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance.
