Thurs, Jan 31, noon: "Beyond Diversity: Challenging Racism in an Age of Backlash," by nationally known anti-racist educator and author Tim Wise.  How most "tolerance" training fails to address fundamental structures of racism and inequality; focusing on personal prejudice rather than institutional bias is inadequate for building an anti-racist movement and results in a negative impact on all Americans.  At Grand River Room, Kirkhof Center, Grand Valley State University, Allendale.
