Community Opportunities
The Holland Human Relations Commission is seeking nominations for its 2020 Social Justice Awards in housing, education, employment, and government/community relations as well as for a student/youth category for ages 13 to 19. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Nov 13. Recipients will be notified in December and recognized at the Social Justice Awards ceremony at Holland City Hall in January 2021. Registration and Voting Information
To be eligible to register to vote you must be:
  • A Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote)
  • A United States citizen
  • At least 18 years of age (when you vote)
  • Not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison
You can register when you are 17.5 years old, but you can't vote until you're 18.

Voting by absentee ballot: When you've completed your ballot AND signed/dated the envelope, you can return it to your city or township clerk's office; you can mail it in (do this early!), or you can place it in a secured drop box.
