Tonight, 6 pm: Public ceremony at College Ave. and 19th St., Holland, to rename College Park as Rosa Parks Green, honoring the late civil rights activist. 

 

Sat., June 17, 1 to 6 pm: 7th annual celebration of Juneteenth, “Keeping the Legacy Alive.”  Speaker, activities for families and youth, music, games, local talent contest, step dancers, information booths, barbeque and soul food.  At Kollen Park, on the waterfront at Van Raalte and 10th St., Holland.

 

Tues., June 20, 7 pm:  “Understanding the New Immigration Bills,” educational forum with immigration attorneys Danny Upton, Robert Alvarez, and Jose Sandoval; Jon De Witte, district director for Cong. Peter Hoekstra; and Paul Troste of Sen. Carl Levin’s district office. Moderator, Rev.
