Tonight, 6 pm: Public ceremony at College Ave. and 19^th St., Holland, to rename College Park as Rosa Parks Green, honoring the late civil rights activist. 

 

Sat., June 17, 1 to 6 pm: 7^th annual celebration of Juneteenth, “Keeping the Legacy Alive.”  Speaker, activities for families and youth, music, games, local talent contest, step dancers, information booths, barbeque and soul food.  At Kollen Park, on the waterfront at Van Raalte and 10^th St., Holland.

 

Tues., June 20, 7 pm:  “Understanding the New Immigration Bills,” educational forum with immigration attorneys Danny Upton, Robert Alvarez, and Jose Sandoval; Jon De Witte, district director for Cong. Peter Hoekstra; and Paul Troste of Sen. Carl Levin’s district office. Moderator, Rev. Friday, June 9:  There will be no regular meeting of the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony this month.  Instead, please save the evening of Tuesday, June 20; plans are under way for an educational forum on the new immigration bills.  More information will be coming.
