Mon, June 2: Computer classes in Spanish and English begin this week at Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP); classes are for three hours each, over six consecutive weeks.  Cost is $25 per series.  Basic computer skills: Mondays at 9 am or 6 pm; advanced classes, Tuesdays 9 am or 6 pm.  Register by calling Leroy Hernandez at (616) 392-5058.  Classes are part of LAUP's employment training program, Steps to Success, funded by a grant from the Holland/Zeeland Community Foundation.  At LAUP computer lab, 100 North Fairbanks, Holland.

COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY

Maple Avenue Ministries needs volunteers for its multicultural summer MAC-REC program, an afternoon and evening recreation program for children in Holland's central city.  Hours are 4:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday to Friday, until Labor Day.  Volunteers can work in the clubhouse serving drinks and snacks or outside in the parking lot to play and help supervise recreation; commitment is two hours once a week (same time each week).  Help build relationships with children and families in Holland.  Contact Brittnee Longwell at (616) 886-6345.  At 427 Maple Ave, corner of 17^th and Maple, Holland.
