TONIGHT, Mon, Apr 2, 7 pm: Holland is Ready meeting, with two speakers from the Transgender Education Collaboration in Grand Rapids discussing transgender discrimination in the workplace and housing; includes personal experiences, national statistics, questions and answers. www.hollandisready.org  At Grace Episcopal Church, 555 Michigan Ave, Holland.

 

TONIGHT, Mon, Apr 2, 7 pm to 9 pm: Documentary film, "The People's Crisis," about the "real crisis" of humanitarian disasters in North Korea—beyond nuclear weapons, security, or leaders' attitudes.  Film follows four North Korean refugees from their escape into China to eventual resettlement into South Korea or the U. Wed, Apr 4, 7 pm: "The Voices of First Generation Americans": Panel of Grand Valley State University students who have immigrated to the U. Fri, Apr 13, 7 pm: "Passport to Vietnam," presentation by Ngoc Mong Pham, covering culture, traditions, history of her birth country (meeting originally scheduled for January but postponed because of weather).
