 Sat, Apr 27, 7 pm:  HOSA meeting: "Non-theist Buddhism."  Open to the public.  At OOTL Center, 451 Columbia Ave, Holland.

 Fri, May 3, and Sat, May 4:  2019 Fiesta, hosted by Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP). Music, dance, car show, amusement park, information booths, food, and more celebrating Latino culture.   www.laup.org for schedule of events, including Saturday dance at Holland Armory.  ACEH will have a table of children's activities and community  information Saturday 11 am to 3 pm.  At Shops of Westshore, 12331 James St, Holland.

 Sat, May 4 – Sun, May 12:  Tulip Time 2019.  90th annual Tulip Festival with Dutch heritage events, plus parades, performances, shows, markets, art exhibits, and more. See schedule at   https://www.tuliptime.com/events.  At downtown Holland and area venues.

 Mon, May 13-Sat, May 18, 7:30 pm:  Film, "Ramen Shop."  When a young ramen chef from Japan finds his late Singaporean mother's journal, he takes it with him to her native country, hoping to put together the story of his family and his life.  Languages: Japanese, English, Chinese.  At Knickerbocker Theatre, 86 East 8th St, Holland.  

 Wed, May 22, 7 pm:  Presentation re Lakota war leader Crazy Horse.  Members of the Edward Clown family, his nearest living relatives, will share stories and memories of their grandfather and "clarify inaccuracies in a widely accepted biography."  Q&A and book signing ("Crazy Horse—The Lakota Warrier's Life and Legacy" by the Clown family, as told to William B. Matson).  At Grand Rapids Public Library, 111 Library St, SE, Grand Rapids.

 Tues, June 4, 7:30 am to 9:30 am: "Housing Next: Community Update." Learn about work in progress and "opportunities to move the needle on housing supply and affordability over the next few years."  Presentations on housing needs assessment, partnerships, and future work.  Free, but register at Eventbrite.  At Ottawa County Fillmore Street Complex conference room, 12220 Fillmore St, West Olive.  Park in Lot C.

 Tues, June 11, 8 am: 2019 Summit on Race and Inclusion: "Commitment to Justice."  Keynote speakers Rudy Valdez and John Pavlovitz; breakout sessions: business, education, faith, community engagement, youth advocacy, health, law and policy. Organized by Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance with sponsors and collaborating organizations, including ACEH.  Cost is $85.  Community Opportunities

May Baskets:  Through the month of May, the Center for Women in Transition seeks donations of household and personal care items for its clients; these items aren't covered in public assistance, putting them out of reach for many of CWIT's families that are experiencing life-changing situations of domestic violence or sexual assault.  Filled laundry baskets and/or product donations may be taken to CWIT at 411 Butternut Drive, Holland. www.cwitmi.org

  Dues are $20 per year for an individual ($35, two years);

 $30 per year for a couple or family ($50, two years);

 $40 for a nonprofit;  $75 for a business. 

  In lieu of (or in addition to) paying dues, you may join as a service member, volunteering for the group.  ACEH is a 501c3 organization.  Our fiscal year is October 1 to September 30.
