TONIGHT, Mon, May 3, 7:30 pm: Encore performance of "Dutch Art Comes Alive," with one-act play, "Fortune," by local playwright Max Bush, to celebrate addition of 17th-century works to the Dutch Gallery. At Holland Museum, 31 West 10th, Holland.

 

Tues, May 4:  ELECTION DAY.  Several school financing issues are on the ballot in local communities.

 

Wed, May 5: 7:30 pm:  Program by Jeremy Scahill, author of "Blackwater: The Rise and Fall of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army."  His book, published in 2007, won the George Polk Award for excellence in print and broadcast journalism and was a New York Times best-seller.  Free, open to the public.  Organized by Interfaith Congregation chaplain and local peace activist Bill Freeman, and others.  (Erik Prince, Blackwater founder, is Tulip Time luncheon speaker May 5; press blackout; event is sold out.)  At Holland 7 Theater, 500 Waverly Rd, Holland.

 

Thurs, May 6, 1:15 pm and 2:45 pm:  Open house of Ottawa County Courthouse in Grand Haven.  Attorneys Reyna Masko and David Macias want Hispanics to know about services provided at the courthouse.  Tours are available in Spanish, and the county is providing transportation from Holland to Grand Haven.  Vans will leave the Department of Human Services Building, 12185 James, Holland, at 1:15 pm and 2:45 pm and return shortly after each tour.
