Fri, Mar 16, 6 pm: Documentary film, "Divided by Language: India's Newspapers," produced by GVSU faculty members Vandana Pednekar-Magal and Alan Bell, who have been journalists in India.  Discussion after film.  Free, open to the public.  At GVSU Pew Campus, Loosemore Auditorium, Grand Rapids.


Sat, Mar 17, noon: St. Patrick's Day Parade, from 8th Street Marketplace east to College Ave., followed by 1 pm performances at Knickerbocker Theatre, downtown Holland.

 

Sat, Mar 17, 7:30 pm: Spiritual and Gospel Extravaganza concert by Holland Chorale, with guest conductor Rollo Dilworth, composer, professor of music at North Park University, and minister of music at Martin Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Chicago. The Grand Rapids Community Chorus will take part.  Tickets $17 adults, $14 seniors, $5 students, at (616) 494-0256, ext. 814.  At Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 11th St and Central Ave., Holland.

 

Sun, Mar 18, 5:30 pm:  Community potluck.  Everyone is welcome; bring a dish to pass.  Meet new people, greet old friends, enjoy good food and conversation.  At Leaf and Bean Too, 19th and Columbia, Holland.

 

Mon, Mar 19, 1 pm: "Immigration and America's Future" presentation sponsored by Herrick District Library and World Affairs Council.  Light lunch served.  At Herrick District Library auditorium, 300 South River, Holland.
