COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES:

 

• MONDAY, AUGUST 27, 11 am to 1 pm:  State Rep. David Agema (R-Grandville) and the Michigan Border Security and Immigration Task Force of the Michigan House of Representatives are holding a public hearing on "how illegal immigration impacts (West Michigan) communities."  Topics: "economic impact, financial burdens and proper enforcement of immigration," according to a release from Rep. Agema's office.  The Task Force will gather ideas from "law enforcement officials, Farm Bureau representatives, 9/11 Families for a Secure America, and concerned residents."  Agema said, "The task force welcomes voices of the community to attain a clear understanding of the immigration issue, legal or otherwise has on West Michigan."   At Georgetown Charter Township Office, 1515 Baldwin Road, Jenison (west of M-21 Chicago Dr. and I-196; www.gtwp.com or (616) 457-2340).
