Thurs, June 19, 6 pm to 8 pm: Neighborhood Park Celebration, with children's games, youth basketball, face painting, family-oriented events. Sponsored by City of Holland Neighborhood Liaison Program and the Police Department Community Relations Commission.  At Rosa Parks Green, corner of College and West 19th St, Holland.

 

Sat, June 21, 1 pm to 6 pm: Seventh annual Juneteenth celebration, with emphasis on education.  Keynote speech by Rev. Wayne Coleman; food booths; information tables, including ACEH; children's activities.  Music by Silver Star Singers, Kevin Kollins and his African drummers, and Lakeshore Idol winner Lasondra Leffler.  At Kollen Park, Van Raalte Ave. on Lake Macatawa, Holland.

Wed, July 9, 6:30 pm: Free film, "Sunset Story," a humorous documentary drama "that will make you think differently about growing old." Set against the backdrop of a retirement home for political progressives in the heart of central Los Angeles, in a neighborhood bustling with immigrant Latino and Korean families; the film goes inside the world of two women, ages 81 and 95, "whose feisty engagement with life draws them together."   Presented by 3 E's Initiative, Herrick District Library, and Local Future. Fri, July 11, 7 pm: Monthly meeting of Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony, with panel of individuals who have immigrated to the U.S. Open to the public, place to be announced.  

  

JOB OPENING:
