Tues, Dec. 7, 4 pm until 5:30 pm:  Poster fair.  Members of Hope College Phelps Scholars, a multicultural residence program on campus, will display and discuss results of group research projects from their First Year Seminar classes.  Free, open to the public.  At Maas Auditorium, Hope College, Columbia Ave at 11th St, Holland.

 

Tues, Dec. 7. 6 pm until 9 pm:  Fundraiser for Girls on the Run of Ottawa and Allegan Counties.  Sale of designer-inspired purses, handbags, wallets, and more.  Sponsored through Center for Women in Transition.  Call Sarah for information at (616) 494-1719.  At City Flats Hotel, 61 East 7th St, Holland.

 

Thurs, Dec. 9, 7 pm:  Second half of film, "With God on Our Side," sponsored by Friends of Palestinians and Israelis—Holland Group; voices the theology of Christian Zionism and a biblical alternative that would promote peace and reconciliation for both Jews and Palestinians. Discussion follows. At Herrick District Library, 300 South River, Holland.

 

Tues, Dec. 14, 7 pm:  Bilingual informational meeting for the Reciprocal Language Partnership, which pairs English and Spanish speakers who want to learn each other's native language; instruction is given in both languages by an experienced teacher.  Free child care.  Sliding-scale fee for classes, which meet on Thursday evengins from 5:30 to 7:45 pm, Jan 13-March 31.  www.rlpprogram.org  At Van Raalte Tech School, 461 Van Raalte Ave, Holland.
