Wed, Sept 23, 2 pm until 8 pm:  Holland Flood Relief Task Force is offering information and assistance to low-income families dealing with flood damage to their homes.  Presentations on safe flood clean-up at 3, 5, and 7 pm; needs assessments for low-income homeowners in zip codes 49423 and 49424 who have no flood insurance.  Free, open to the public.  At Midtown Center, 2nd floor, 96 West 15th St, Holland.

 

Thurs, Sept 24, 5:30 pm and 8 pm:  Film, "Sicko," by Michael Moore.  Free, with discussion following each showing.  Sponsored by Journey Church. At Holland 7 movie theater, Waverly Rd between 16th and 24th Sts, Holland.

 

Thurs, Sept 24, and Fri, Sept 25, 7:30 pm: Latino dance ensemble, Luna Negra Dance.  Established in 1999, the company has served as the springboard for contemporary Latino choreographers "to give expression to their stories and bring new life to the cultures of their communities."  Part of Great Performance Series.  Individual tickets $17 regular admission, $12 seniors, $6 age 18 and younger.  DeVos ticket office, weekdays 10 am to 5 pm; 395-7890.  At Knickerbocker Theatre, 86 East 8th St, Holland.

 

Fri, Sept 25, 7 pm:  General meeting of Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony; the public is welcome.  "The World Studies at Hope": Hope College international students will share their perspectives on global education and studying in the United States.  At Martha Miller Center, Columbia Ave at 10th St, Holland.

 

Fri, Sept 25, 7 pm: Closing ceremony of 2nd Caribbean Art Festival.  At St. Cecilia Music Center, 24 Ransom St NE, Grand Rapids.
