webcast with Q&A, by Karen Coates and Jerry Redfern, print and
photojournalist team on Southeast Asia. Free, light lunch included

Fri, Mar 15, 7 pm: PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays)
Meeting. Presentation (at 8 pm) by Andrea Ernst and Taylor Dereadt,
cofounders of MiLove, on the statewide movement to collect enough
signatures to put repeal of Proposal 2 on the 2014 ballot. Open to the
public; meeting begins with a support group, followed by the

and the Amalfi Coast."

Racism-Free Community, with keynote speeches by Dr. Gail Christopher of
the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and author damali ayo, and breakout

YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOP
Wed, Apr 10, 4 pm to 6 pm: The African American Awareness and
Development Organization is teaming with the Holland Civic Theatre to
hold a supervised Power 2 Be workshop for youth ages 13 to 19 (creative
acting, directing, stage construction, stage performance, lighting,
hair/makeup, costumes). $10. Participants will perform plays about
Black history, cultural experiences, and more. Contact Theenda

the amount paid for a prescription.

LANGUAGE ACADEMY
The Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance offers 10 weeks of instruction
in Spanish for beginners (Tues, Apr 9 – June 11, 9 am to 11 am) and
intermediate learners (Thurs, Apr 11-June 13, 6 pm to 8 pm).
$100 and purchase of book; some scholarships available. Registration
