Thurs, Aug 21, 6 pm:  Holland Human Relations Commission (HRC) meeting.  An opportunity for the community to engage with commission members and to learn more about Restorative Justice Circles, in a presentation by Jill Russell, pastor of Hope Reformed Church, Holland. ("Restorative Justice is a process to involve, to the extent possible, those who have a stake in a specific offense and to collectively identify and address harms, needs, and obligations, in order to heal and put things as right as possible.")  Holland City Hall, 2nd floor training room, 270 South River, Holland.

Community Opportunity: Great Start Program for Preschoolers
Ottawa County's Great Start Readiness Program has openings for more than 1,000 preschoolers for free or low-cost early childhood education this year.  Operated through the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) working with school districts, community agencies, and child care centers.  Children in Ottawa County who are 4 years old by Oct 1, 2014, are eligible.  A family of four can earn up to $59,625 and still qualify.  Half-day and full-day sessions available.  Visit www.oaisd.org/GSR-Papp, or www.successandmychild.org or call (616) 796-1504.
