Members and friends work together through programs, outreach, advocacy, and social events to make West Michigan a place where all people are welcomed and respected. Community Opportunities: Middle Schools
STEP UP mentoring program for middle school students: Volunteer mentors are needed to tutor middle school students individually or in small groups once a week after school on Hope College campus for a semester or academic year, participate in social activities, become a role model. Calling All Colors conferences for middle school students need volunteers. Conferences are Oct 6 and Oct 7 at Hope College and Oct 21 at Aquinas College, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am each day. All volunteers must attend a training session (Oct 2 in Holland from 6 to 8 pm or Oct 15 in Grand Rapids, 6 to 8 pm.) If you cannot attend a training session but are interested in volunteering, contact communications@ethnicdiversity.org or office@ethnicdiversity.org. Calling All Colors is organized by Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance.
Calling All Colors Middle School Liaisons for Holland Public Schools for 2014-15 academic year. Help recruit students for the program, accompany students to CAC conferences, hold meetings every other week at Holland East or Holland West schools. Training, materials, support, and stipend.
