 Fri, Feb 20, 7 pm (support group); 8 pm (program): "Welcome Church Forum,"  presented by PFLAG Holland/Lakeshore. Individuals from six Holland churches speak about where their denomination and congregation stand on inclusion of persons who are LGBTQ and what they are doing to welcome this population. Churches represented are Hope Reformed, Grace Episcopal, First Presbyterian, Peace Lutheran, Douglas United Church of Christ (UCC), and First United Methodist.  Moderator is John Buttrey, a UCC retired minister.  Persons may attend program only, if they wish.  At Grace Episcopal Church, 555 Michigan Ave, Holland.

Mon, Feb 23, 7 pm:  Film, "A Path Appears," from the creators of "Half the Sky"; presented by WGVU.  Uncovers "the harshest forms of gender-based human oppression and human rights violations, and solutions being implemented to combat them"; focuses on the U.S., Colombia, Haiti, and Kenya.  Panelists Andy Soper, Gail Harrison, and Nikeidra Battle-DeBarge will discuss "human trafficking, its impacts, and what community members can do to help prevent and spread awareness of this form of modern slavery."  Event is free but RSVP required; click Home page banner "a path appears" at www.wgvu.org  At Hope College, Graves Hall Auditorium, 263 College Ave, Holland.

Looking Ahead
Registration is open for the March 27, 2015, Summit on Race and Inclusion "Moving Beyond Bias."  The event will be held from 8:30 am to 3 pm at Grand Haven High School, Grand Haven.  Registration fee of $50 includes keynote speeches, a breakout session and panel discussion, refreshments and lunch.  Go to Eventbrite or contact the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance at www.ethnicdiversity.org, email office@ethnicdiversity.org or call (616) 846-9074.  There will be no on-site registration.
