  Mon, July 25, 7 pm:  "Welcoming Refugees in West Michigan," with guest speaker Susan Kragt, executive director, West Michigan Refugee Education & Cultural Center; the Center works to support families and individuals "to gain skills for successful integration into the community; to foster a sense of community that benefits refugees and non-refugees alike."  Tues, Aug 2, 7 am to 8 pm:  Michigan primary election.  In Ottawa County, millage renewals for Herrick District Library and Ottawa County Parks will be on the ballot.

 Sun, August 14, 1 pm to 4 pm:  18th annual Potluck in the Park hosted by the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony (ACEH).  Bring a dish to share from your culture, and a lawn chair or blanket for extra seating. ACEH provides beverages and table service. Come enjoy music, activities for all ages, pie-eating contest, musical tiles, prizes, and more.  Invite family, neighbors, friends, co-workers, people new to West Michigan.  Info at 396-2201.  At Dunton Park, north of River Ave Unity Bridge, then west on Douglas/Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland.
