Sat, July 30, 9 am to 1 pm: Solutions Summit: Community Informed Policing. "To create space for community members to share concerns and create solutions." "Group dialogue featuring topical experts, followed by smaller, community-driven discussion groups on how to address issues related to policing and how the community impacts that culture." Tues, Aug 2, 5 pm to 8 pm: Holland National Night Out. Annual crime prevention and community-building event; family activities, information, more. Followed by free showing (at 9:30 pm) of the newest Star Wars movie: The Force Awakens. Bring lawn chairs. (If weather is bad, film will be moved to the Park Theatre.) Sun, August 14, 1 pm to 4 pm: 18th annual Potluck in the Park hosted by the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony (ACEH). Bring a dish to share from your culture, and a lawn chair or blanket for extra seating. ACEH provides beverages and table service. Come enjoy music, activities for all ages, pie-eating contest, musical tiles, prizes, and more. Invite family, neighbors, friends, co-workers, people new to West Michigan. Info at 396-2201. At Dunton Park: North on River Ave, across the Unity Bridge, then west on Douglas/Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland, then left to Howard Ave, and turn right to the park. The Potluck will be in the large pavilion.
