In the Community: January 22, 2017

A Weekly Listing of Diversity and Multicultural Events

From the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony:

"Diversity, Unity, and Justice Are at the Heart of ACEH"

ACEH was founded in Holland in 1999 and is committed to justice, equal opportunity, cross-cultural understanding, and appreciation for diversity.  Members work together to make West Michigan a place where all people are welcomed and respected. "In the Community" is also on the ACEH website www.harmonyalliance.org   Check us out under Groups on Facebook, at ACEH – Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony.  Lots of info and links to multicultural, race, and justice topics.  Find us on Twitter at #acehalliance.

 Dear Subscribers:

 You tell us often that you like these weekly emails because they help you find out what's happening around diversity, race, justice, and inclusion issues in this area.  We know you attend events or sign up for workshops and classes because you've read about them here.  We're glad to partner with local organizations to publicize what they are doing.  People have told us they appreciate the job leads.  Many of you are already members and contributors to ACEH, and we appreciate you!

 In 2017, we hope more of you will support what we do in West Michigan.  Please consider stepping up to become a member of ACEH and help us continue publishing "In the Community" and our monthly Newsletter, hosting community events, and funding a local scholarship.  Join us for the first time or renew your membership.  It's easy, and it's not expensive. We believe you will feel great about being part of this long-time, friendly, and inclusive group!  Here's how:

 --You can join at our website http://www.harmonyalliance.org/ via PayPal;

--Or you can write a check to ACEH, c/o Treasurer Al Minert, Box 3007, Holland, MI 49422-3007;

--Or you can join at any ACEH program or social event.

 Dues are $20 per year for an individual ($35, two years); $30 per year for a couple or family ($50, two years); $40 for a nonprofit; and $75 for a business.  In lieu of (or in addition to) paying dues, you may join as a service member, volunteering for the group.  ACEH is a 501c3 organization.

 Thank you!

 The ACEH Board of Directors: C.J. Kingdom-Grier, Belinda Coronado, Al Minert, Eleanor Lopez, Bobbie Brown, H Bin Lim, Lori Shaw, Viola Jackson, Kim Ludwig
