TONIGHT, Fri, Aug 4, 6 pm to 10 pm:  'The Bread Show": a celebration of Latin American and Anglo European bread making traditions.  Free. Presented by Urban Gardens Peforming Arts.  Live performance baking, in English and Spanish, written by Roel Garcia and Anna Gabhart; peformeRS Jose Angulo, Amber Wood, Marianna Ramirez-Franco.  Artwork by Erick Picardo, Lisa Walcott, Alynn Guerra, Sara Allsum-Wassenaar, and Sayde Anderson; with JK's Bakehouse, Ramirez Bakery, and Ken Freestone.  At Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St, Holland.

 Tues, Aug 8, 7 am to 8 pm:  Primary election for Ward 3 seat on Holland City Council. Polling place (Precincts 6 & 7, Ward 3) is at Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holland, 435 Van Raalte, Holland.

 Sunday, August 13, Potluck in the Park!

ACEH will hold its 19th annual Potluck in the Park on Sunday, August 13, from 1 to 4 pm at the Kollen Park Band Shell, by Lake Macatawa in Holland.  (Parking lot off 12th St)

 Come enjoy fun, fellowship, music, family activities, games, piƱata, and great food.  Invite someone new in the community!

 Mon, Aug 14, 6 pm:  Documentary film: "After Spring," about the Syrian refugee crisis.  Sponsored by Holland's International Relations Commission as part of its This New American Life quarterly film series.  Film follows two refugee families in transition at Zaatari, a refugee camp in Jordan that houses some 80,000 people.  Kristine Van Noord, program manager for Bethany Christian Services' Refugee Adult and Family Program, will be available for Q & A; she lived in the Middle East for 5 years and speaks Arabic.  At Herrick District Library auditorium, 300 South River Ave, Holland.
