Tues, Nov 7, 3 pm: "Who is My Neighbor? Faith, Justice, and Community," led by Dr. David Myers, with Amy Otis-De Grau, Rev. Dr. Denise Kingdom-Grier. Interactive event with small group discussions about Christians' responses to the Japanese-American internment and parallels between those events and current politics regarding refugees. At Martha Miller Center Rotunda, Columbia Ave at 10th St.
Tues, Nov 7, 6 pm: Japanese Culture and Educational Dinner. Japanese and Japanese-American cuisine, and a short presentation on Japanese culture as it pertains to community's Big Read book. $9 adults, $4.50 children ages 4 to 11, free for kids under 4. Must register;

Sat, Nov 11, 11 am: Big Read event: Author Amy Lee-Tai will read from her children's book "A Place Where the Sunflowers Grow," about a Japanese-American child who finds hope in an internment camp. At Herrick District Library children's area, 300 S. River.

Your dues are needed to help pay for "In the Community," our monthly Newsletter, educational programs, partnerships with other groups, outreach and advocacy, and community social events twice a year.

Dues are $20 per year for an individual ($35, two years); $30 per year for a couple or family ($50, two years); $40 for a nonprofit; and $75 for a business. In lieu of (or in addition to) paying dues, you may join as a service member, volunteering for the group. ACEH is a 501c3 organization. The fiscal year is October 1 – September 30.
