Wed, Jan 15, 5:30 pm to 8 pm: New Mentor Training. Escape Ministries invites people in the community to mentor a young person, one-on-one, once a week, and says "our mentoring relationships are beautiful, difficult, diverse, and mutually transformative. Thurs, Jan 16, 7 pm: "Us versus THEM: Understanding Images of Separation," by Dr. David Pilgrim, founder and director of the Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University. Introduces audience to the creation, mission, and work of the museum, the nation's largest collection of publicly accessible racist artifacts. At Holland Museum, 31 West 10th St, Holland.

Chicago-based artist and professor Nate Young uses family oral history and artifacts to interpret the life of his great-grandfather, who was part of the African American experience during the Great Migration of the 20th century.
