Thurs, June 18, 1 pm: Documentary, "The House We Live In," explores the impact of racial, social, economic, and political systems.  50-minute film followed by half-hour facilitated discussion.  Open to the public.  Offered by Office of Multicultural Education, Hope College.  At Martha Miller Center-Fried Hemenway Auditorium, 10th St and Columbia Ave, Holland.

 

Thurs, June 18, 1 pm until 4 pm: The Clothesline Project, a display of t-shirts by women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, will be displayed on the lawn behind Curragh Irish Pub in downtown Holland.  Sponsored by Center for Women in Transition.  At the corner of 8th St and College Ave, Holland.

 

Fri, June 19, 8 am until 5 pm: Part of the 9th annual celebration of Juneteenth in Holland: 3-on-3 basketball tournament.  At Holland Civic Center, Pine Ave at 8th St.

 

Fri, June 19, 6 pm: Juneteenth activity: Black-tie dinner; Hope College associate professor John Yelding as speaker.  Ms Juneteenth Pageant.  Tickets at the door, $25, or call (616) 836-8559. 

 

Sat, June 20, l pm until 7 pm: Juneteenth activity: Free, family-oriented activities, entertainment; food for purchase.  ACEH will have an information table and craft activity.  At Kollen Park, Van Raalte Ave, at Lake Macatawa, Holland.

 

Sat, June 20, 9 pm: Juneteenth activity: After-party.  Tickets $5; sold at Kollen Park or at the theater.  At Park Theater, 248 River, Holland.
