Tues, July 14, 7 pm: Author Kim Douglas reads from her memoir, "High Desert: A Journey of Survival and Hope," an account of her childhood marked by abuse, through steps to recovery, to new ideas on healing.  At Schuler Books & Music, 2660 28th St, SE, Grand Rapids.

Fri, July 10, 4 pm to 7 pm: Gathering for reminiscences of Philip E. Beal, peace and justice advocate, ACEH member, who died June 30.  A memorial service is at 11 am Saturday, July 11.  Both are at First United Methodist Church, 57 West 10th, Holland.
