Sat, Nov 15, 10 am – noon:  Spanish-language discussion of To Kill a Mockingbird (Matar a un RuiseƱor).  Hosted by Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP) and Mas Adelante.  Pick up a copy of the book at the LAUP office.  At LAUP, Midtown Center, 96 West 15th St, #101, Holland.
 
Sat, Nov 15, 10:30 am – 12:30 am:  "To Kill a Mockingbird" through art.  Special event for child artists (best for children in grades 2- 5).  Design a mockingbird and create a trinket box.  At Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St, Holland.
 
Sat, Nov 15, 2 pm:  Free film: "Our Mockingbird":  Two Birmingham, Alabama, high schools, one primarily black and one primarily white, collaborate to produce the play, "To Kill a Mockingbird."  Skype discussion with director Sandra Jaffe follows.  At Herrick District Library, 300 S. River, Holland.
 
Sun, Nov 16, 3 pm:  Mockingbird Music, with Edie Hyde and Jimmy Leach. "Through music that would have been heard in Alabama in the 1930s, paired with readings from the novel, we explore differences of race, class, and religion that divide communities, and bonds that unite us, then and now."  At Third Reformed Church, 111 West 13th St, Holland.

SAVE THE DATE!  ACEH Holiday Potluck and Cultural Sharing Party, Saturday, December 6:  Annual ACEH community event, with entertainment, music, children's activities, silent auction, great food, fun and fellowship.  Bring a dish to share from your cultural background, and a nonperishable food item for local food bank.  ACEH provides beverages and table service.
