Waukazoo Indian Homecoming: Part of Park Twp. Centennial Celebration

All events at Fairgrounds and Community Building, Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland

 

Tues, Aug 18 – Fri, Aug 23: Waukazoo Indian Homecoming: Several direct descendants of Chief Waukazoo will participate. Displays and presentations (wigwams, basket makers, dance and regalia, flint knapping, fire keepers, "make and take" activities).

 

Fri, Aug 21, 5 pm to 7 pm: Waukazoo Traditional Feast. Community is invited to eat corn soup, game, and other traditional foods cooked and served by the Waukazoo.

 

Sun, Aug 23, Grand Entry starts at noon: Waukazoo Mini Pow Wow.  Dancers, drums, festive ceremony.  Announcer will explain meaning of traditions, and you can participate or enjoy being a spectator from the grandstands.
