potluck in the park and traffic info

The 17th annual ACEH Potluck in the Park will be Sunday, August 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the  Dunton Park pavilion, 290 Howard Avenue, on Holland's north side.  Please bring a dish to share from your cultural background; ACEH provides beverages and table service.   Bring along a couple of lawn chairs or a blanket for extra seating.  Fun activities for all ages! Music, games, balloon animals, art crafts, face painting, henna, bubbles, musical tiles, pie-eating contests, and prizes.  Meet new people in the community and celebrate and appreciate the diversity of this area.

TRAFFIC NOTE:  Starting Sunday at noon, the Board of Water and Light is moving a  VERY large piece of equipment from a Lake Macatawa dock east to the new power plant.

The route is from 8th street by the lake, to Van Raalte Ave, and then east on 13th Street (crossing Washington, Maple, Pine, River, Central, College, and Columbia).  It will turn left at Lincoln and continue on 12th St and then to Fairbanks, crossing Chicago Dr.   Points along the route will be closed at various times during the afternoon.     If any of those street closings affect your journey to Dunton Park, find an alternate route!  We want to see you at the potluck and not stuck somewhere waiting for a 70-foot-long vehicle to mosey along in front of you.
