Mon, Dec 7, 6:30 pm: Nuestra Comunidad Hispana: Exhibition and Public Reception. View an exhibit of more than 40 stories of local Latinos; meet the individuals behind the stories/ Vea una exhibición de más de 40 historias de residentes latinos del área; conozca a la personas de las historias. Collection will be added to the library's genealogy section. Community Opportunities
Coming Soon: Asian Americans Will be Featured in Story Collections. Beginning January 6 (also Jan 16,20, 22, and 25) interested Asian Americans in the community can volunteer to share their story and be photographed at Herrick District Library. No appointments will be necessary. The collection will be celebrated at a community reception in May during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. More information will be provided in "In the Community" in December and January.
You Can Help Your City: The City of Holland has openings for volunteers on the Human Relations Commission (3 people) and the Macatawa Area Express Transportation Authority (1 position). The HRC meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6 pm. The MAX Authority meets on the 4th Monday of every month at 3:30 pm.
