Sun, March 5, 3 pm: "Midnight at the Black History Museum." Maple Avenue Ministries 4C Central City Children's Choir directed by Chris C.J. Kingdom Grier: "Students locked in the museum after a field trip see portraits of famous African Americans come alive 'to educate them on their past and open their eyes to important moments in history.'" Desserts follow.  Free, open to all.  At Maple Avenue Ministries, 427 Maple Ave, Holland.

 Mon, March 6, 7 pm:  A Community against Hate Crimes.  Mark Bishop of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights discusses hate crime statistics in our area and how communities can come together to combat hate.  At Herrick District Library auditorium, 300 South River, Holland.

 Thurs, March 9, 6 pm:  First Holland meeting of Lakeshore Chapter of the Western Branch of the ACLU of MichiganAt GVSU Meijer Campus, Room 104, 515 South Waverly, Holland.

 Mon, March 13, 10-11 am:  OAISD Juego y Aprende: Spanish-language programming for children up to age 5.  (Para familias con niños de 0 a 5 años) Padres y hijos juegan y aprenden con libros, actividades, y música infantile. También hay información sobre el desarollo de sus hijos y educación preescolar.  Herrick District Library auditorium, 300 South River, Holland.

Tues, March 14, 11 am to 1:30 pm: Ladles of Love: soups, sides, & silent auction.  Benefit for My House Ministry.  Proceeds fund case management for My House mission of "providing hope, housing, and guidance to women and children in need."  Tickets $10 in advance/$15 at the door.  www.ladlesoflove2.eventbrite.com  At Boys & Girls Club of Holland, 435 Van Raalte Ave, Holland.

 Tues, March 14, 4 pm: 2017 Asian Heritage Lecture: "The Intersection of Faith, Race, and Identity."  Community and faith leader Robin Afrik of Holland will share her cross-cultural experiences and faith journey toward healing and reconciliation.  Free; open to all.  Co-sponsored by Center for Diversity and Inclusion, student HAPA group, and GROW.  At Hope College Maas Center, 264 Columbia Ave (between 10th & 13th Sts), Holland.

 Thurs, March 16, 6 pm: "Invisible Walls, Ceilings, and Floors: Championing the Voices and Inclusion of Female Leaders of Color in West Michigan."  Community Forum to share findings and recommendations of a research project of the W.K.
