TODAY, Mon, Aug 24, 3 pm and 4:30 pm:  Michigan Civil Rights Commission holds two meetings: Business meeting at 3 pm and a public forum at 4:30 pm on issues of migrant farmworkers.  Last opportunity for public testimony on concerns faced by people in the agricultural industry.  The Commission and other groups gathered information this summer that will be included with the public testimonies in a report to be released this Fall.  www.michigan.gov/mdcr  (517) 241-3986. ·          The next three events are part of the Caribbean Art Festival, running through Sept 23, celebrating "Caribbean unity, pride and dignity of what this population offers the rest of the world."  Region includes Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Dominica and Jamaica.  Presented by Caribbean Coalition for the Arts and Culture, which is open to all ethnicities.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Registration begins for Holland Public Schools pre-GED-Prep and English as a Second Language for residents of Holland Public Schools District (zip code 49423) who are at least 20 years old by Sept. 1.  Classes are offered mornings and evenings, 12 hours per week; cost is $20 per year.  Call 494-2166.  Registration takes 1 ½ hours and is open on these dates at Van Raalte School, 461 Van Raalte Ave, Holland:
